IWSG~Bullet Journals

When I first read the themed IWSG question for this month - What steps have you taken or plan to take to put a schedule in place for your writing and publishing? - I chuckled because for once I was in line with the current subject.

After the train wreck 2016 had been for me and my family, 2017 was supposed to bask us in a little reprieving light. Nope. Didn't happen. But we grow from adversity, not in complacency.

Saying that, I'd still like to lighten my load a bit. So I decided to start 2018 off with a little more directed force, by becoming casually organized. (Said NO note-taking, sticky freak like me ever before.) Here's what I've decided to do:

1. I've joined a group called Journal Adventure. You can find it HERE if you'd like to check it out or join, too. It's a Bullet Journaling group, where we support each other by trying to be organized and dedicated to our writing through a simple method of using a bullet journal.

Unsure what a Bullet Journal is? Go HERE or HERE (video).

2. I've also joined a 30 Day Happiness Motivation Group. You can find it HERE. I'll receive one email each day for 30 days that will give me some goodness in the world or in my life to ponder for about five minutes. Easy-peasy!

So, to answer the question, yes my plan is to be more devoted to my writing during shorter yet more productive periods of time.

What about you? What do you aspire for this new year?

  1. That sounds like great goals, Sheri. I'm just trying to be more consistent with my writing with everything else that I'm juggling.

    1. Yeah, I hear you. Life can get so busy and get away from us. That's what happened to me in 2017. I'd like to avoid that. Best of luck with all you do throughout this new year!

    1. Yeah, especially the right frame of mind. Being pubbed just over a year now, I've come to admire authors like yourself a lot more. This business is tough and it's hard to keep a positive outlook at times. Having an exercise to help me focus on the positive each day really helps.

  4. I started using a bullet journal in August. I love it, and I have a future post ready for my blog to talk all about the loveliness of a bullet journal. :)

    1. Thank you, Hilary. I wish you all the best during this upcoming year. And I really appreciate you stopping by. I know I haven't been the best as of late with blogging. Lots of family issues with my mom's illness and such. I guess I get a little down now and again, and don't feel like I'd be leaving many positive comments on others' blogs. All will turn around, though; I know. Thanks, again...

  7. I started Bullet Journaling last year. I love it. That happy motivation group sounds like something I could use. 2017 has been tough. I hope 2018 brings you much joy, success, laughter and happiness, as well as lots of productive writing.

  8. My sister bought a bullet journal recently. I've been making such lists but without the nifty journal. Happy New Year!

    1. That's great! I actually purchased a dot journal. I guess it gives more freedom if you feel like doodling to capture your personality or whatever. I'm getting there. I'd like to get more creative with my writing in it, not just making lists and such; although, those lists are pretty cool, too. Like the happiness challenge I'm doing. I've made a brief list of each day's exercise. Rereading those in the morning puts me in a good mood. :)

    1. Will do! (FYI: I've missed the last four days in the bullet journal! :( I won't let it get me down. I'm going to stick this out. LOL) I'm really enjoying the happiness challenge, too. It makes me reflect on the positive, which is always helpful.

  10. Awesome. I think you're on the right track. I'm working to get my feet back under me, still, and then I'll think about a writing plan. The kids education is a little more of a priority right now. Wish me luck! (I'm wishing you oodles!)

    1. I'm sure you won't need the luck, but I'll toss some your way. You always do an amazing job at anything you do. Wishing you an amazing 2018 filled with blessings and happiness. And focusing on your kiddos is the most important thing. Take care of yourself, too. Don't forget that.
