Since signing with my agent last summer, I've had to make many changes to my writing life; this summer will be no different. This will be my last post until September. Originally, I'd committed to finishing the sequel to my YA novel that is currently out on sub with four houses (YAY!); I'm 23,000 words into that sequel and my agent is starting to pitch two of my picture book manuscripts; double YAY! But, after chatting with her last week, we've decided I should work on one of my MG projects. So that's what I'll be writing. I'll also be helping my husband with his new business. (If you remember, I mentioned back in February that he'd decided to open his own car dealerships; we have two now. Phew...)
I'm also planning to read some and for the mere pleasure of it. Here's a list of the physical books (potential summer reads) I have in hand - well, on my nightstand.
Here's the list of intended reads already downloaded on my Nook:
THE DRAGON EMPIRE - Heather McCorkle (Actually, I just finished up with this one.)
DRAGONFLY - Leigh T. Moore
NEW PRIDE - Laura Diamond
DEBT COLLECTOR Episode 2 & 3, at least - Susan Kaye Quinn
Surely something will toss a wrench in my plans, but at least I've set a plan of summer writing and reading in action.

What a fun blog. And congrats on being on sub. That's actually not a fun time for me. :-P And it's great that you're taking a break. Have a wonderful summer.

You are one busy, busy lady! That definitely calls for a break. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are incredibly busy. I don't blame you for taking a blogging break. I love the list of book reviewers. I have not had good luck in the past, so your compilation is incredibly helpful!
ReplyDeleteI understand why you've stopped posting until September. Ever since I took the job editing I've been swamped. I love it, but trying to balance writing and editing is crazy. Enjoy summer reading!! See you in September.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time.off! I take up.to a.couplw.months a year off to relaxe, write,.and read.
ReplyDelete'K. Now that makes me feel better. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteNo plans for writing, but I am going to finish off some books this summer.
No doubt, huh? I have a ton on my Nook and Kindle. Not sure I'll ever get to those.
DeleteHave fun reading. Make sure it's in the sun (wear sunscreen, of course), and with a drink in your hand!
Enjoy your break...and good luck with the sequel! :)
ReplyDeleteYou have a nice selection of books to read for the summer. Have fun with the MG story and enjoy your summer!
ReplyDeleteGood grief. Will you ever get to the beach if you read all of that? Amazing goal. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to my giveaway. I really do appreciate that.
Enjoy the break! I can't say I'm taking a break because I haven't been blogging that much. I'm off until july 15th. I plan on writing and reading all of my BEA books!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time doing your thing! You've got lots of things set. I'm mainly going to be writing and enjoying a bit of a vacay in a couple of weeks :-)
ReplyDeleteWishing you the very best with your MS's out on sub.
Thanks for the good wishes! I'm really excited, but it just takes time. lol Looking forward to finishing your PB.
DeleteMy goodness, you are going to be sooo busy this summer! Remember to have fun! And good luck with your manuscripts.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder to have fun. I so often forget that part. lol Enjoy yourself, too! I'll be floating around the blogosphere a bit though. Sure I'll see you.

ReplyDeleteIt's good to be busy when it's about writing! Still grab some sun time for yourself.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the wonderful SPLAT. You're the best, Sheri
Happy Sunday.
Have a great break, and get some awesome writing in, eh? I'm never going to get through my TBR list, but my minimum is 4 genre books a month, so I never have to binge read--except for the end of each month to meet my goal. Still, I'm envious of your stack.
ReplyDeleteDang, I know right? My pile continues to grow in stupid amounts. Wish we could read books intravenously.
