BUT there's more...

When tragedy strikes her best friend, a reluctant empath is
forced to use her skills to help; only doing so stirs her energy,
luring a dark, elusive boy into her world and with him an
ancient evil that threatens her heart and life, but even more
deadly...her eternity. #markedbeauty

Praise for Marked Beauty

"With some of the best imagery I've ever read, MARKED BEAUTY will have you desperately flipping pages to find out what happens with Ana and Viktor--who are both mysteriously endearing and an absolute delight to cheer for."
           - Elana Johnson, author of the POSSESSION trilogy & co-founder of the Querytracker blog

Marked Beauty is a compelling, magical masterpiece that hooks you from page one and doesn’t let go. Ana and Viktor's story is a timeless tale you'll want to read over and over.                                                                                     -Natalie Decker bestselling author of the YA romance series Rival Love.

“S.A. Larsen’s Marked Beauty is a tale of mystery, magic, and beauty. Never will a book ever make you want to be a teen again more than this one. Completely charming.”                                                                                                                            –Danielle DeVor, author of The Marker Chronicles.

I'll be releasing a teaser or two now and again over the next few weeks. Thank you so much for the support!

For this month's IWSG, I guess what I'm most insecure about right now is learning the ropes of marketing and promoting my books in the young adult world. It's so different from middle grade - and getting the word out about middle grade books isn't any easier, either. It's just YA is a completely different animal.

Any words of wisdom from my fellow YA authors or any marketing/promotion guru out there would be greatly appreciated. >3

(The purpose of the IWSG is to share and encourage, posting on the first Wednesday of each month. You'll find writer doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Support and a common understanding spread throughout the group as many fellow writers can relate. Feel free to JOIN in anytime.)

  1. Hello, fellow YA author! Congrats on your upcoming book. I found a lot of support in Facebook author groups. Alliance of YA Authors is a great place to start if you aren't already a part of it. Read through posts or use the search function on the left sidebar to search topics in the group. You'd be surprised how much authors are willing to share. Indie authors in particular since they're always looking for what works and what doesn't. Newsletter swaps are big right now - you feature an author in your newsletter, they feature you. If you don't have a newsletter, start one. Check out the group - or other groups - for which ones work best. From there, I've found other subgroups that relate to my specific genre in YA (I write contemporary).

  6. Congrats! What an excellent assortment of swag. I'm fumbling along with the marketing too. Trying to get into other areas like Facebook and Goodreads, but it's a work in progress!

    1. Thanks so much, Chrys!

I feel awful that I've had to back away from blogging for a bit. I miss everyone so much! But with the first MG book out, writing the second, and the upcoming release of this YA I can hardly breath. I'm sure you totally get it. I'm hoping to come back to blogging in September at least once a week.

    1. Gosh, I needed to hear that, right now, because it doesn't feel like that. It's so overwhelming at times. I can't let myself think about all I have to do or I'll give up and go eat some chocolate. :)
