TOUR SCHEDULE |
I've been away from my middle grade spotlights for a while and decided it was time to join in, again. It's great to me back in the lineup for Shannon Messenger's MMGM! Click HERE for the other participants.
When I heard the next book in this middle grade series was coming out I just had to get on board and at least give it a promo boost from the Alleyway.
This is such a fun series with twists and turns and cleaning products.... #winkyeye Any MGer would love to read!
JANITORS 5: Heroes of the Dustbin
by Tyler Whitesides
Publisher: Shadow Mountain Publishing
Released: September 8, 2015
Pages: 416
Description: Spencer knew that from the moment the Founding Witches had returned, the Rebel Janitors had begun disappearing. So many schools were defenseless now, the students' minds rotting from Toxite breath while the janitors vanished without a trace. Then it became personal.
Although their enemies are powerful, their allies few, Spencer and his team of Rebels are not giving up! But what chance do a handful of kids and one rescued janitor have against the combined evil of the Founding Witches and the Sweepers? Can the Rebels close the source of all Glop and stop the Toxites once and for all-or is the world doomed to fall under the control of the sinister Bureau of Educational Maintenance? This explosive series finale is a gripping ride through conflicted loyalties and daring escapes, unexpected alliances and betrayals, and an ending you will never forget!

Okay, so don't you just love how Tyler used his 'college J.O.B.' to come up with this series? Have you ever used a former job as inspiration for a story?
Doesn't that sound like a fun book! And I love that the Bureau of Educational Maintenance sounds so sinister. Adding to wish list!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's exactly how I felt about the first book in this series. I really, really enjoyed it. I can totally see how kids, especially boys, might be drawn to it.
DeleteHi Sheri - getting the insight into schools from being the janitor obviously provides lots of stories waiting to be told ... I imagine Tyler's book will be really good read, as too the series. Cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteIt sounds really cute.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great concept. I can't wait to read this one. Thanks for featuring. Twenty years in the classroom has provided me with all sorts of inspiration in my story writing.
ReplyDeleteThe cover is awesome! And it sure sounds like a fun book. I love witches, especially evil ones. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteRebel janitors - how freaking hilarious!!!!!!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love that he worked as a janitor. That must give the book a great deal of authenticity! Terrific premise.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great concept for a book. I will have to check this one out. Thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteWitches kidnapping janitors - funny idea.
ReplyDeleteI thought so. Wonder how many of us wanted to kidnap our janitors? Actually, I had an awesome janitor during my high school years. Such a nice man...
DeleteI absolutely love those characters on the cover! A must read.
ReplyDeleteLove the cover. Sounds like a read that's right up MGer alley. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, great cover and title. I like it. :)
ReplyDeleteThe covers are captivating! I love when the stories take place at schools. Congrats to both!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! I think when kids read a setting they are this familiar with they get sucked in even deeper. It ignites their own creativity.
DeleteThis sounds so fun. And I bet the janitors will really appeal to boys.
ReplyDeleteI think so, too. And it's really funny. Boys like that. I tried to get my 11yr-old to read it, but he's into dragons and that sort of adventure. But I liked it. :)
DeleteWelcome back, Sheri! I've met Tyler briefly and found him to be fun and funny, but have to admit his Janitor books have stayed on my TBR pile...something I think it's time I change! Thanks for the nudge on that, and happy MMGM!
