STAIRS!!

Architecture and Interior Design has always fascinated me. Seeing how today we're celebrating the Letter S, I've chosen one aspect of human living quarters that most people encounter: STAIRS.

In keeping with my "What I've learned from Pinterest" theme, below I've pasted images of staircases, stairs, and steps that intrigued me.

Pinterest Links in Columns from Top to Bottom: 1, 2, 3 - 4 &5 - 6, 7, 8.

I LUV these stairs. How creative and inspiring! All three speak a different language, don't you think? I see eclectic, silly & fun, and heartening. Imagine this: You and a friend decide to take a painting class. Your project is a premade staircase. What would you do with YOUR set of stairs?

SPLATTER ALERT: I'm on a family vacation until the 22nd, so I won't be surfing the blogosphere. I'll do my best to catch up when I return. Have fun!!

  1. The piano stairs are awesome! And the ones directly below that... is this like a modern day torture device? I mean I'd definitely break something trying to climb those stairs. I've also pinned a few stairs on Pinterest that have either sayings or have the spines of famous books. Great post!

  4. I love the last one. The slanted step one looks dangerous. I injured my ankle from running up and down the stairs during the winter for exercise (apparently this is a BAD thing to do). I would have broken my ankle if I had tried running on those steps.

  5. The stairs with the rats/mouse creeps me out.

  6. Those triangle stairs are mind blowing. And I love the mice. I have two sets of stairs in my house and I think I know what I'm going to do with them once I rip the carpet off. Thanks Sherrie, for the great inspiration.

  7. I'd have to give up wine if I had climb any of these. I'd never make it to the top, but I'd probably find the bottom rather quickly! I love the whimsy of them.

  8. Love these. I've also seen some stairs that look like you're climbing a pile of books!

  9. The mouse ones are cute. I would hate to try and climb the bottom mid stair at night while sleepy.

  10. The one in the middle - how on earth do you walk up those stairs? At an unbalanced run?

    1. I know. I'd love to do something like this in my house. Now, what to paint? What to paint...?

  12. I'm absolutely loving the piano spiral staircase!! If I could design my own stairs... Oh wow. Maybe something like an ocean wave curling up? I love beach scenery, so something like that would be fun.

Happy A to Z! (Also, I adore Pinterest!)
