OASIS FOR YA
Today was supposed to be my AFTA-MATH MOTHER'S DAY post. But, alas, it too shall lay in waiting along with my hockey post, my organization post, the post about a great new bullying site...
I have an announcement...AUGH.............
I, along with some fabulously talented writers who I believe some of you know, have joined forces and started a TEAM BLOG together. We have dedicated ourselves to YOU, the writers of all things YA.
Whether you are previously published with books lining the shelves, polishing up your current WIP to start the submissions process, or have just begun your debut masterpiece, OASIS FOR YA is the place for you.
About a month ago I visited one of our Team Member's blog and read a piece of her short story. Of course it was fabulous, but what really hit me was how she reminded me of myself. (Good thing or bad thing for her, that's still up for grabs.) We started conversing and before we both knew it, we'd decided to collaborate.
We weren't sure if we should do a short story or maybe even a book someday. But the one element we knew we needed was a starting point; hence OASIS FOR YA. We felt a blog would give us the time and work arena to get to know each other more personally and each other's working styles.
Being the nurturers we both seem to be, we came up with the idea of creating a place where ALL YA writers could come for comfort, support, and encouragement during the twists and curves of the publishing world.
OASIS FOR YA is for YOU.
Our posts will encapsulate all that it means to be a writer.
Mondays are for relaxing you to enter your week of writing. We'll post ways to 'keep it all together'.
Tuesday will come to be known as the day we writers ROCK-OUT.
Wednesday is more of a technical day, posting sites, helpful craft tips, and more.
Thursdays are the day we give thanks for all our blessings. Come post your successes this day, from breaking through writer's block or maybe writing those 800 words you'd committed to, to even getting representation or selling your first MS.
And Friday has been set to be our FREESTYLE day to end the long work week. On this day you'll read interviews with amazing writers, book reviews--we'll even have review-offs where we all read the same book and compare our opinions, contests and giveaways.
Here's a sneak peek at our site:
So come visit me, A.E. Rought, J.A. Souders, Nikki Katz, and Jessie Harrell today! We'd love to have you!!
Okay, how do you have the time??? This sounds great.

ReplyDeleteAw thanks for the comment :) I really hope Candyland doesn't give up. There's this great site called Query tracker and it has all kinds of stats about that. So I always take a deep breath and smile when I see that some people have queried 115 agents, received 99 rejections, and 16 positives. (ha I actually saw that on there today). I hoped my stats might make Candace feel a little better.
ReplyDeleteI love this blog schedule BTW! I'll def check out Tuesdays and Fridays! Those really catch my interest! And that always feels good when you find someone you can relate too (I found my beta and she's the coolest! we have a good ole time haha!)
p.s. LOVE YOUR background! The coloring is amazing, I just want to stare at it all day! No lie...anything to get out of homework ;)
Just signed up for the new blog! Really cool.
