Wistful YA SPOTLIGHT ~ The Offering

Despite taking this new year to revamp my focus for Writer's Alley to a more personal road, I did mention that I'd still highlight special reads, authors, and tours now and again. When I was contacted about this next YA read, I knew I had to share it with you. AND read it myself.

Please welcome Kimberly Derting and her fantastic story THE OFFERING. Plus, she has a wonderful giveaway going on. Remember to enter!

   The Offering by Kimberly Derting

True love—and world war—is at stake in the conclusion to The Pledge trilogy, a dark and romantic blend of dystopia and fantasy.

Charlie, otherwise known as Queen Charlaina of Ludania, has become comfortable as a leader and a ruler. She’s done admirable work to restore Ludania’s broken communications systems with other Queendoms, and she’s mastered the art of ignoring Sabara, the evil former queen whose Essence is alive within Charlie. Or so she thinks.

When the negotiation of a peace agreement with the Queendom of Astonia goes awry, Charlie receives a brutal message that threatens Ludania, and it seems her only option is to sacrifice herself in exchange for Ludanian freedom.

But things aren’t always as they seem. Charlie is walking into a trap—one set by Sabara, who is determined to reclaim the Queendoms at any cost.

  1. Awesome book to spotlight. I really liked the first book in the series. I need to catch up on the second and third book.

  2. Stunning covers. They have me hooked already!

  3. That cover is amazing and the story sounds great! I'm going to have to add this series to my list. Thanks!

  4. How have I NOT stumbled across this series yet? Okay, TBR list, and some serious book lust happening here. I'm trying to remind myself that my time-stopper was broken to prevent premature aging, but it feels like an evil plot to keep me from reading as much as I'd like. ;)

  5. Amazing covers indeed, sure makes one look

  6. Ugh, Sabara is a horrible person- I'd forgotten how much I hated her from the first book! {Let's just say worst mom ever!} I hope Charlie gets rid of her for good. Guess I'll need to read it to find out. :)

  7. I haven't read any of these books, but OMG, I LOVE that cover!!

  8. I agree with Crystal... TBR list right away. Also, thanks for stopping by my site the other day and for following. I really appreciate the encouraging comments you've said about The Labyrinth Wall. Hope you have an awesome weekend. =-)

  9. This looks like an awesome book. I have one or two of Derting's books in my TBR pile, but I haven't read them yet. I've heard great things about her writing.

    1. I haven't read anything by her yet, either. Dang - need more time!

      Thanks for dropping by.

  10. I have some of Kimberly's books on my TBR, but just haven't had the time to read them. I am soooo bad. *blush*

Wishing Kimberly much success with her new book! :)
